Photo Time!!!

Sam's school photos last year were......
well, let's just say, not good.
So, we decided to get some done this year.
Crystal, at Little Lane Photography, had a "school mini-package" deal.  I like her style, so we decided to try it out.
Sam was a bit squirrly,  which is normal for him in a situation that is different for him.
Crystal went with the flow, did a great job and here are the results!
SAMUEL PURDY 2013
Love, love, love this boy.......

Something Just for Fun!

Not everything in our little corner of the world is work, work, work.
A lot of our curriculum contains fun crafts, recipes and field trip ideas.
Here are some of the other things we utilize throughout our day!

I would use them even if we didn't home school.
We used Kiwi Crate before we started to home school.
Now, if I see one of the crates will go along with one of our units, I hold off using in until then.
Love, love, love Kiwi Crate.

Little Passports is another one we used before home schooling.
We are using the world edition and just use the items and suggestions to go along with our geography lessons.  Sam loves the little things that come with it.

I know some of these items add up cost wise.  But, for us, when everything you need comes with it and I don't have to run all over buying things, it is worth it.

We use Legos quite a bit.  They are great to help Sam with his fine motor skills.
Plus, he is a 7-year-old little boy who loves Legos!!!!
I would love to eventually get some of these kits and add them into our curriculum.
Something for everyone!!
Hope that this may have given people some more ideas.  Not just for home schoolers, but families in general

Schedule.....Subject to Change without Notice!!

This is our basic schedule.
I try to stick to it as much as possible, but......
stuff happens.

I will post more about each subject throughout the next few months.
Through some trial and error, we have settled on a curriculum that works for Sam.  It is varied enough for him that he doesn't get bored and has enough information for me that I don't get stressed trying to figure things out.

  • At the moment we are studying the Book of Mormon.  To keep Samuel involved we are using this guide, but adjust it to suit our needs. Wonderful ideas on this blog!  Prepared LDS Family

Great resources over at Confessions of a Homeschooler

Well, that is a list of our main core stuff!
So far we have been very happy with all of it.
We also throw in trips to the supermarket, mall and aquarium.
Lots of field trips for us to help Sam's social skills.
Even lunch at McDonald's play area counts!!
